Academic Services
Instructors
The instructor teaching your course will track your achievements, offer encouragement, and be available to provide academic assistance during office hours. Instructor office hours are posted in classrooms, laboratories, and the program director’s office.
Academic Assistance Services
Weekly academic assistance schedules are developed by the program directors and posted in classrooms and laboratories. We encourage all students to take part in the academic assistance program, which can help you get the practice you need to successfully learn your new career skills.
UMA Libraries
UMA Clearwater has an on-campus library available to you. Additionally, an online library collection is available to all students and includes thousands of peer-reviewed, full-text articles on a variety of subjects. These resources are available at any time from any location as long as you have internet access and a computer. We also have a UMA Librarian available to answer your questions about research and to help you find reliable sources of information.

UMA’s Career Services advisors support you every step of the way through the job search and into your new career. Our team is passionate about understanding your needs and connecting you with employers that are actively hiring. The Clearwater Campus certification program offers an on-site testing center in a familiar exam setting. As a UMA Clearwater student, you’ll also receive access to academic assistance sessions and preparation materials before testing, an on-site administrator for additional questions, and a flexible testing schedule.
The following certification preparations are available at UMA Clearwater:
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) through National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) through National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) through Prometric
