From resume writing to mock interview practice to helping you fine-tune your LinkedIn profile, you can count on your Career Services Advisor for assistance with your job search. Some of our healthcare programs offer an externship/practicum, an opportunity for students to get on-site experience in the field which may help them stand out from other applicants. The Externship Team works with students enrolled in programs with an externship/practicum, helping to identify opportunities, in addition to support managing expectations and responsibilities.

Making your resume stand out is important in a competitive job market. Things like making it visually appealing, personalizing it to the job requirements, including the relevant keywords, and showcasing your relevant skills and achievements are all some of the ways to help your resume get noticed. Meeting with your CSA to optimize your resume is the first step in this process, building on the resume development that is part of the career-readiness process. In addition, graduates can join the alumni association, ConnectUMA, to stay connected to their UMA community plus receive access to alumni networking, professional development and more.
