Ultimate Medical Academy Announces Associate of Science in Nursing Degree Program

TAMPA, Fla., March 20, 2013 – Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) is actively enrolling students for its Associate of Science in Nursing program’s April 15 start. The  program is taught at UMA’s Tampa campus located at Busch Blvd. and I-275. In as little as two years, students can graduate and be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) which enables them to seek entry-level positions in nursing.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that employment opportunities for registered nurses are expected to grow 26 percent from 2010 to 2020, adding 711,900 new nursing positions, faster than the average for all occupations. Growth will occur primarily because of technological advancements, an increased emphasis on preventative care, and the aging baby-boomer population that will demand more healthcare services as they live longer and more active lives.

The UMA Advantage for the Associate of Science in Nursing  Program

UMA provides a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum that includes 615 hours of clinical and simulation learning and helps students understand new and complex nursing concepts. UMA’s Associate of Science in Nursing also includes instruction on how to take the NCLEX-RN, a practice examination and a three-day live review during the final week of school. Passing the NCLEX-RN is required to work in the field of nursing.

“The art of finding a career that you love is a matter of finding something that offers rewards beyond monetary compensation,” explained Pamela Wright, Nursing Program Director at UMA. “Our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to have a memorable and positive impact on the health and well-being of their patients. Our courses provide real-life management instruction and utilize various teaching strategies and tactics applicable to daily nursing practice.  I invite interested students to visit our campus to learn more about our ADN program and see our simulation lab in action.” UMA Associate of Science in Nursing students  have the additional backing of a UMA Career Services Advisor to assist with resume writing, interviewing skills, the job search and interview scheduling.
