Shawntel Landry, Ed.D.
CHIEF ACADEMIC OFFICERShawntel Landry is a higher education executive with a proven track record of enrollment growth, including industry-beating retention and graduation rates. Most recently, she was CEO of Hope Education Group, a consulting company focused on higher education accreditation. In addition, she is the former president of American College of Education (ACE), an online higher education institution located in Indianapolis, IN. She joined American College of Education in 2009, serving as president from 2013 – 2022.
Dr. Landry leads by focusing on the big vision, striving for high student and employee satisfaction, while installing scalable operations and programming. During her tenure at ACE, she led the college through the development of a new mission, vision, and several strategic plans, began programming in multiple disciplines (education, healthcare, nursing, and business), and guided the college to become the first institution in Indiana that was both a Certified Benefit Corporation and a Public Benefit Corporation.
Under her leadership, she grew enrollment from 1,000 students in two programs to over 8,000 students in over seventy online degree granting programs. During this time, the college won national and state awards for workplace flexibility and employee satisfaction, including being a Best Place to Work in Indiana for six straight years. In 2022, American College of Education was rated as the second-best online provider of education by Newsweek.
Prior to ACE, Dr. Landry worked at Southern Methodist University, focusing on educational research, and Voyager Learning, focusing on K-8 curriculum development. Dr. Landry holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Gifted Education from the University of Louisiana – Lafayette. She holds an MBA and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas Christian University. She has completed post-graduate coursework at Southern Methodist University and the University of Connecticut, along with executive leadership professional development at Harvard University, Wharton, and Cornell.
